- Parks Comprehensive Plan
The Comprehensive Recreation Plan for the development and improvement of the South Fayette Township parks system has been updated. The Board of Commissioners approved the guide in October 2019 after more than a year of research, assessment and public engagement.
The 2019 Comprehensive Recreation Plan is an update of the 2005 Parks Master Site Plans and the 2002 Parks, Recreation and Open Space Plan.
The plan provides a vision and a guide for potential future park projects. Completion depends on funding, such as grants, approvals and other factors.
A steering committee, including residents, was chosen by the Parks and Recreation Board to direct the plan, in conjunction with third-party consulting firm Herbert, Rowland & Grubic Inc. (HRG). Public feedback on the draft plan was accepted in September and October 2019. The draft plan reflects the results of a public survey (PDF) that was conducted in late 2018. Comment also was welcome during meetings of the Board of Commissioners and the Parks and Recreation Board.
