Cecil-Sturgeon Road in South Fayette Township will be closed for more than a year, until May 30, 2019, as part of the Southern Beltway construction project, according to contractor The Beaver Excavating Co.
The road will close from about 2,000 feet west of Millers Run Road to about 3,500 feet east of Rigerts Hill Road. The posted detour route will include Robinson Run Road, Route 978, Route 50 and Millers Run Road. Local access to driveways will be provided on the Rigerts Hill side.
During the same period, a work zone will be set up on the shoulder of westbound Route 50. The zone will span from about 2,000 feet west of Route 978/Millers Run Road to about 2,200 feet east of Route 1010/Cecil-Henderson Road.
