Sections of Cecil-Reissing Road in South Fayette Township and Reissing Road in neighboring Cecil Township will close as soon as April 25, 2018, as part of the Southern Beltway project, according to contractor Beaver Excavating Co. A detour will be put in place.
The highway construction plan includes the closure of Cecil-Reissing Road from about 300 feet north of the northernmost intersection with Cecil’s Karen Drive to about 4,350 feet south of the intersection with South Fayette’s Rigerts Hill Road. Plans show that eventually, vehicles no longer will be able to follow Cecil-Reissing Road into Washington County but instead will use a new connector road to travel from Cecil-Reissing Road to Cecil-Sturgeon Road.
The Reissing Road closure, which is located entirely within Cecil, Washington County, starts about 650 feet west of Reissing Road’s intersection with Grillo Road and ends about 2,300 feet east of its intersection with Cecil-Reissing Road and the spur of Reissing Road.
