Township receives grants to help build community center

Township Commissioners pose with ceremonial check

South Fayette Township has been awarded $500,000 in grants from the Gaming Economic Development Fund toward construction of a community center. The project details, location and timeline still are to be finalized, so the public will have opportunities to be involved in the process in 2020.

The GEDF program was established to fund community and economic development projects in Allegheny County through revenues generated from casinos in Pennsylvania.

PA State Rep. Jason Ortitay presented a ceremonial check Nov. 13 to the township Board of Commissioners.
