The Pennsylvania Department of Health issued an order April 15 aimed at protecting the employees and customers of life-sustaining businesses that remain open during the coronavirus pandemic.

The order requires that both customers and employees wear homemade cloth masks in grocery stores, pharmacies and other open businesses. Customers can be turned away if they are not wearing a mask. Employers must provide masks to staff.

The order also provides specific requirements for cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining social distance, as well as guidelines to follow if a business has been exposed to a probable or confirmed case of COVID-19.
