Fireworks, Community Day and Touch-a-Truck postponed

fireworks postponed

South Fayette Township is postponing large community events that were scheduled for this summer due to COVID-19 restrictions and safety concerns, but the township is considering the possibility of holding a community event with fireworks in the fall.

Fireworks (July 4), Touch-a-Truck (July 26) and South Fayette Community Day (Aug. 22) are cancelled.

The township would be unable to safely and fairly restrict crowd sizes to comply with state requirements for large group gatherings (250 people maximum with distancing). The top priority is the health and safety of our citizens, visitors and employees.

After thorough consideration, South Fayette and Upper St. Clair jointly postponed their annual Fourth of July fireworks display. The two communities are looking at the possibility of holding the event in the fall. Follow the municipalities’ websites and social media accounts for updates.

South Fayette and Upper St. Clair have been teaming up to launch fireworks from Fairview Park since 2016. Normally, many spectators gather at Fairview Park and the Community & Recreation Center at Boyce Mayview Park to watch the fireworks.
