Playground construction set for Boys Home and Fairview parks

Playground with Sign

A playground rehabilitation project this summer will affect Boys Home Park and Fairview Park in South Fayette Township.

Construction begins May 17, 2021, on a new playground next to the Boys Home Park pavilion. The pavilion will remain open for rentals. The existing playground will remain in use during construction but will be removed once the new playground is in place.

Beginning around June 6, 2021, the Clifford-themed playground next to the Entrance Pavilion in Fairview Park will be closed as it is replaced with updated equipment. The pavilion will remain open for rentals, but the accessible sidewalk will be temporarily closed during playground construction.

The playground at the Fairview Park Rotary Pavilion is open but will close temporarily at some point to install the second layer of a rubber safety surface.

The township has received a $300,000 state grant to help update the playgrounds to make them safer and more accessible.
