Boyce-Mayview Intersection Road Work Update with image of roadway

The intersection of Boyce Road and Mayview Road in South Fayette reopened to traffic on Oct. 11, 2022.

Single-lane alternating traffic is occurring as needed weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in various locations as improvement work continues through December 2022.

About the Boyce-Mayview Project

  • $2.71 million project by Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 11 to improve intersection and help control flooding
  • Prime Contractor: Frank Gavlik & Sons, Inc.
  • Improvements include:
    • Installation of left turning lanes in each direction from Boyce Road to Mayview Road
    • Addition of right turning lane from northbound Mayview Road to eastbound Boyce Road
    • Culvert/bridge replacement on Mayview Road over a branch of Chartiers Creek
    • Roadway widening
    • Lighting improvements
    • Intersection realignment
    • Updated traffic signal hardware
    • Drainage improvements
    • Stream channel realignment
    • Guide rail improvements
    • Milling and Paving
