  1. Kindermusik for Kindergartners (Ages 5 - 6)

    October 8, 2020, 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM @ Fairview Park Entrance Pavilion

    Kindermusik for the Young Child offers kindergartners (ages 5 to 6 years) exciting first experiences with musical symbols and more complex instruments, laying the groundwork for more formal music instruction. Your children thrive as they sing, move, play instruments and create music with other children in a socially distant, safe space outdoors. Parents celebrate as their children begin to master musical concepts while building a strong foundation for learning in other subjects like math, reading and writing. Enrollment includes 16 classes over 8 weeks, a personal instrument kit for class ensembles, and class materials (binder, activity pages, home activity cards, games bag, glockenspiel and case). Class size is limited to 8. COVID-19 Protocols: Social distancing required. Masks recommended. Health check before class. Children have all of their own materials and a personal instrument kit as part of registration. There is no sharing of materials.

  2. Girls on the Run (Grades 3 - 5)

    Registration opens at noon Weds. Aug. 26. Girls on the Run inspires girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. Trained coaches lead small teams through a research-based curricula that includes dynamic discussions, activities and running games. Over the course of the 16-lesson program, girls in 3rd through 5th grade develop essential skills to help them navigate their worlds and establish a lifetime appreciation for health and fitness. The program culminates with girls positively impacting their communities through a service project and being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5K event. COVID-19 SAFETY: --Maximum team sizes reduced to 12 girls --Program modifications to adapt to physical distancing --If needed, program can be quickly and easily shifted to virtual practices

    Yoga Nidra is a powerful technique that induces complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. You will be guided to a conscious state between sleep and wakefulness where contact with the subconscious and unconscious mind occur spontaneously. Yoga Nidra aids in healing of the central nervous system and improves memory, creativity and sleep. You will be able to attend this class in the comfort of your own home! Get comfortable, grab a pillow and a blanket, and sign on. Your video does not need to be on. Wear pajamas if you’d like. You will be led through a series of guided relaxation techniques, breathing exercises and visualizations. Registration for this class will close at 4:00 PM on October 8. You will be emailed a link to the call approximately one hour before class.

Recycling & Trash Calendar

  1. Trash and Recycling Collection (Thursday Streets)

    October 8, 2020, 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM @ For addresses whose regular collection day is Thursday.

    Coronavirus Changes (as of 3/24/20): For Waste Management to focus on essential waste collection and disposal, they are temporarily suspending the following services, which are non-essential during this emergency period: --Bulk Collection – furniture, carpet, mattresses, appliances, etc. -- Spring and bulk clean-ups --Yard Waste Collection – grass clippings, brush, tree limbs, etc. (scheduled for May 2 in South Fayette, but subject to cancellation or change) Regular trash and recycling collections continue, but please note the following guidelines: --All trash/refuse must be bagged & sealed and, wherever possible, placed in containers. LOOSE ITEMS WILL NOT BE COLLECTED. --All recyclable materials must be placed inside recycling bins (including cardboard). ITEMS LEFT OUTSIDE OF THE BIN WILL NOT BE COLLECTED.
