In this class, students in grades 4 to 8 will learn about the hottest AI topics, including path planning, speech recognition and more. Starting with the definition of artificial intelligence, students will learn what constitutes AI and be able to identify AI applications in their lives. Students will code a virtual robot in Calypso, an AI programming framework. In their code, students will make use of AI applications such as speech recognition and path planning. By coding a virtual robot to chase objects, plan paths to destinations and solve mazes, students will learn computational thinking and programming while learning about behind-the-scenes AI technology in self-driving cars. Register in advance, and the Zoom link will be emailed to you prior to class.

Recycle your household glass! Drop off all colors of empty glass bottles, jars and jugs in the container provided. No need to separate glass colors. Caps, lids and labels are acceptable.
Only glass is permitted in the recycling bin. Bags and boxes used to transport the glass must be discarded off site.
These items are NOT accepted: cut glass, window glass, glass bakeware, mirrors, porcelain and ceramics, stemware, light bulbs, TVs, and any other materials, including other types of recyclables.
This bin offers a contact-free, weeklong dropoff service and provides a safe method of recycling glass while eliminating the need to interact with other individuals or touch shared surfaces. Please anticipate depositing your glass yourself, as staff and volunteers will not be present to assist you.

South Fayette residents may participate in this monthly collection of electronic equipment (anything with a cord, such as TVs and computer equipment). Only one TV per car is allowed (free). Appliances containing refrigerant (Freon) are accepted for $40 each. In-tact fluorescent bulbs are accepted for $2 each. Please note that the following items are NOT ACCEPTED: pianos, organs, smoke detectors, batteries, vacuum cleaners, carpet scrubbers, shavers, electric toothbrushes, curling irons.
