South Fayette Township has closed the Wood Waste Recycling Center at Boys Home Park due to unregulated and unauthorized dumping, along with associated environmental and safety concerns.
Instead, starting approximately March 20, 2024, Public Works will accept certain wood waste in a controlled dumpster at 515 Millers Run Road, South Fayette PA 15064, in the Morgan neighborhood (near the Public Works garage, between Morgan Park and the former municipal building).
Residents wishing to dispose of yard waste must contact Public Works in advance for approval. Call 412-221-8700 ext. 223.
This solution includes a controlled-access area with weekday operating hours from 7 AM to 3:30 PM.
Commercial use and landscaping businesses are prohibited.
Eligible for disposal:
- Trees, branches and limbs up to 4 inches in diameter
Prohibited:
- Grass clippings
- Tree stumps
- Plastic bags
These exact same guidelines were in place at the Boys Home site.
