Beginning on Aug. 24, all traffic will be shifted into the westbound lanes on Route 50 in South Fayette Township, PennDOT announced.
A single, 11-foot lane will be maintained in each direction in the westbound lanes as crews begin work in the eastbound lanes. Temporary barrier will be installed between the lanes of traffic. Traffic will remain in this configuration through late October.
The traffic shift is part of a $19.04 million project that includes roadway reconstruction, guiderail and barrier updates, drainage improvements, traffic signal upgrades, debris removal, signing and pavement markings. Work will occur on Route 50 from Millers Run Road to the Washington County line.
The project will conclude in late October of 2015. Golden Triangle Construction Company, Inc. is the prime contractor.
