The South Fayette Township Police Department's Project Teddy Bear collection has successfully ended, thanks to the community donating about 1,000 stuffed animal toys.
Officers carry the teddy bears in their patrol vehicles to give to children in need of comfort.
“We’d like to thank everyone who donated,” Police Chief John Phoennik said. “The community really stepped up when we asked for help.”
The donation drive has ended for the year but may occur periodically as needed.
