[ARCHIVED] Former service station torn down at I-79 and Route 50

Thanks to Kehm Oil, Ritenour & Sons, West Penn Power and South Fayette Township Commissioner Gwen Rodi and her husband, Nick, for their work in helping clear the way to beautify the commercial area around Interstate 79 through the removal of the vacant former Texaco station at the corner of Route 50 and Hickory Grade Road.

Ritenour & Sons, who will begin demolishing the nearby Star City Cinemas in December, donated its services to tear down the vacant service station at no cost to the township.

"We appreciate these community members partnering with us," township manager Ryan Eggleston said. "We will continue working with the property owner with the aim of attracting beneficial redevelopment at that site."
