The work had begun in March, but contractor Northeast Paving had shut down its in-person operations in compliance with Gov. Tom Wolf’s order that all non-life-sustaining businesses close their physical locations to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Starting May 1, the construction industry in Pennsylvania is permitted to conduct in-person operations if they strictly adhere to the safety measures issued by state Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine.
Later this year, additional work on these sections of road will require closures. Allegheny County Public Works will announce the exact start dates.
