A 300-foot section of Thoms Run Road in Collier, about 500 feet west of its intersection with Boyds Run Road, will close from 9 a.m. Mon. Sept. 14 until sometime in October for construction of two support walls, Allegheny County has announced.
Traffic will be detoured using Thoms Run and Oakdale Road, Hilltop Road and Forsythe Road. All homes and businesses on Thoms Run Road will be accessible throughout the closure.
The work is part of an ongoing project on Thoms Run Road that will require another closure later this year, when crews will replace a culvert near Forsythe Road and Prestley Road. That start date will be announced later.
The project is being done by Northeast Paving, a division of Eurovia Atlantic Coast LLC of Pittsburgh, as part of a $10.7 million contract.
