[ARCHIVED] Beware of fraudulent bank card scam

The “Chase Bank” scam has been flooding the South Hills area recently. Please check your mail thoroughly. If you receive a Chase Bank debit or checking account card but did not open an account with them, please do the following:

  1. Contact Chase Bank (1-800-935-9935) to advise them the account is fraudulent and close the account.
  2. Contact a credit bureau and let them know you are a victim of ID fraud.
    • Experian: 1-888-397-3742
    • Trans Union: 1-888-909-8872
    • Equifax: 1-800-525-6285
  3. Obtain a free credit report on the federally authorized website.
  4. File an online complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center.
  5. File a report with the police department where you reside. You can call 9-1-1 and ask to be put into contact with a South Fayette Township police officer.

Your information will be forwarded to the U.S. Secret Service, who will investigate along with its task force partners.
