The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources visited Fairview Park on April 21, 2022, to celebrate South Fayette Township's $1 million grant award for a ball field complex to be built on the Mayview site. Project construction is expected to start in early 2023.

About the Project:

The ball field complex project is 86 percent funded, thanks to $1 million from Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, $25,000 from a T-Mobile Hometown Grant, a contribution from the SFBSA and other funding sources.

The ball field complex includes construction of three ball fields with artificial-turf infields, dugouts, bleacher sections, lighting, a batting cage and ADA-accessible walking paths.

The fields will be used for multiple recreation activities, such as baseball, softball and cricket. The facility will provide safe playing conditions, increase field availability and create a welcoming community park hub on the Mayview site expansion of Fairview Park.

Other nearby projects on the Mayview site will include a splash pad, a wooded dog park and a pavilion.
